  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools and handling telephone communications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact, welcoming and assisting visitors with professionalism and care.
  • Perform administrative tasks including scheduling via Microsoft Outlook, answering phones, managing shared email accounts, scanning, filing, and data entry, while maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
  • Adhere to dress code and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Answer telephone calls clearly and courteously; take accurate messages and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff and faculty both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaborate with staff and fellow student employees on departmental events such as Orientation, Opening Weekend and Homecoming.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in staff development and appreciation events.
  • Demonstrate initiative and problem‑solving skills when managing tasks or addressing visitor needs.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Contribute to an inclusive office culture by valuing diverse perspectives and supporting engagement opportunities that foster a sense of belonging.
  • Participate in training that supports equity, inclusion and cultural awareness.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled full‑time in an Undergraduate or Graduate Day Program at SNHU.
  • Work Study must be part of the student’s financial aid package (prioritization for work‑study students).
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools and handling telephone communications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends.
Work Schedule

Student employees are typically scheduled to work 10–15 hours per week during the academic year. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Schedules are determined based on the student’s class schedule and departmental needs, with flexibility to support academic commitments. Occasional evenings and weekends are required to assist with departmental events and programs. Attendance at monthly staff meetings and participation in staff development events are expected.

Compensation

The hourly pay range is $13.00 – $15.00, with the actual offer based on skills, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and other business considerations.

Learning Outcomes

Student employees will develop core skills in community building, continual improvement, inclusivity, integrity and teamwork through training, monthly one‑on‑one sessions, departmental events and conference participation.
