Job summary

South/North Laurel High Schools in Kentucky is hiring a Student Services Coordinator to join the school counseling and student support team. The role focuses on academic planning, records, scheduling, and college/career readiness initiatives to lighten counselors' workload.

The position reports to the Principal/Assistant Principal and requires a Kentucky teaching certificate, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with families and community partners.

Qualifications

• Kentucky Teaching Certificate required.
• Experience in secondary education preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of student information systems and technology platforms.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Academic Services: assist with scheduling and schedule changes; monitor graduation requirements; support enrollment, withdrawals, and transfers; assist with transcripts; maintain student records.
• College and Career Readiness: coordinate college, career, military, and workforce readiness activities; assist with scholarships and postsecondary planning; support dual credit, AP, certifications, and career pathways; coordinate college visits and career fairs.
• Assessment and Accountability: assist with state/local testing; support data collection, organization, and reporting; monitor intervention plans and student support programs.
• Student Support: assist with transitions for freshmen and new students; support attendance and interventions; work with counselors to identify needed academic support; liaise with families, school staff, and community partners.
• Administrative Support: prepare reports and documentation; maintain records and databases; support communications with students, parents, and staff; perform other duties; 188-day contract work as assigned.
