Position Summary
The Student Services Coordinator serves as a member of the school counseling and student support team, assisting with academic planning, student records, scheduling, college and career readiness initiatives, testing coordination, and other student service functions. This position is designed to enhance student support systems while reducing administrative workload for school counselors, allowing counselors to focus more intentionally on direct student services, social-emotional support, and academic advising.

Principal and/or Assistant Principal
Qualifications
- Kentucky Teaching Certificate required
- Experience in secondary education preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of student information systems and technology platforms
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and community partners
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Academic Services
- Assist with student scheduling and schedule changes.
- Monitor graduation requirements and student progress toward graduation.
- Support enrollment, withdrawals, and transfer processes.
- Assist with transcript requests and academic record maintenance.
- Maintain student records in accordance with district and state requirements.
College and Career Readiness
- Coordinate college, career, military, and workforce readiness activities.
- Assist students with scholarship opportunities and postsecondary planning.
- Support dual credit, AP, industry certification, and career pathway initiatives.
- Coordinate college visits, career fairs, and transition activities.
Assessment and Accountability
- Assist with state and local testing coordination.
- Support data collection, organization, and reporting.
- Monitor academic intervention plans and student support programs.
Student Support
- Assist with transition activities for incoming freshmen and new students.
- Support attendance, intervention, and student success initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with counselors to identify students needing academic support.
- Serve as a liaison between students, families, school staff, and community agencies when appropriate.
Administrative Support
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation related to student services.
- Maintain accurate records and databases.
- Support communication efforts with students, parents, and staff.
- Perform additional duties related to student services as assigned by the principal.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by their immediate Supervisor.
188-day contract
Salary based upon the Laurel County Board of Education certified salary schedule.
