Job Summary

This Student Services Analyst will coordinate and support the scaling of Rio Salado College's Prison Education Program (PEP) access for students. The position will provide program coordination, operational planning, student onboarding and admissions support, FAFSA/Pell-related guidance, advising referrals, progress monitoring, and data/reporting support across the PEP student lifecycle. This role will support broader PEP expansion through collaboration with internal Rio teams, MCCCD partners, and external correctional/reentry partners. The position will help improve student access, retention, and completion by coordinating processes, resolving barriers, and maintaining accurate records and communication.

Essential Functions

65% - Performs PEP program coordination and administration, including operational planning, program management and evaluation, problem-resolution, technical assistance, student onboarding/admissions support, FAFSA/Pell-related guidance, advising referrals, progress monitoring, and coordination with internal and external partners to expand student access.

25% - Designs, develops, maintains, and delivers program resource information, presentations, reports, correspondence, outreach/recruitment materials, and communication tools to support PEP access, retention, and completion.

10% - Creates and maintains files, records, databases, and program data; assists with reporting and continuous improvement; performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Qualifications

A. Experience coordinating or supporting student services programs, advising, recruitment, retention, financial or program management in higher education.

B. Knowledge of FAFSA, Pell Grant, or financial aid processes, including the ability to support students through eligibility and application steps.

C. Experience working with incarcerated or justice-impacted students, correctional education programs, or community partners serving restricted-access populations.

D. Experience using student information systems and college-specific applications to track student progress and support case management (e.g., SIS, ACIS, CRM/communication tools, LMS).

E. Experience collecting, analyzing, and summarizing program data for reporting, continuous improvement, and evidence-based decision-making.

F. Experience developing student-facing resources, correspondence, presentations, reports, outreach materials, or training resources.

G. One (1) year of full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years.

Special Working Conditions

Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense. May be required to travel to or support multiple MCCCD locations and PEP-related partner sites; this position is housed at Rio Salado Tempe, but will require travel to ADCRR locations. Some evenings and weekends may be required. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen. Depending on assigned sites and program needs, the employee may be required to obtain correctional facility or partner-agency clearance, which may include background screening. MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas.

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
