Job summary

The Maricopa County Community College District is seeking a Student Services Technician (Specially Funded) at Rio Salado College to provide confidential student support and information services. Responsibilities include processing records requests, admissions guidance, and maintaining registration information in our systems.

This grant-funded position runs 12 months with potential renewal based on funds, offering regular hours Monday–Friday and the possibility of occasional evenings or weekends

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and one year of clerical, administrative office support or related experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provides information and assistance to students regarding admissions procedures and processes over the phone, in person at the counter, or via email while adhering to district policies.
  • Performs clerical and administrative office duties related to applications, enrollment, identity verification, and validation.
  • Retrieves information and enters or updates information in reports, logs, or other documentation/record-keeping systems.

Job Summary

Provides customer support by processing records requests and providing and maintaining admissions and registration procedural and program information for students and the educational community.

Essential Functions

45% - Provides information and assistance to students regarding admissions procedures and processes over the phone, in person at our counter, or via email while adhering to applicable District policies and procedures.
45% - Performs clerical and administrative office assistance related to applications, enrollment, identity verification and validation, etc.
10% - Retrieves information and enters or updates information in reports, logs or other documentation or record-keeping system. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and one year of clerical, administrative office support or related experience.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Qualifications
  • One (1) or more years of experience working in a community college setting.
  • Experience resolving complex issues.
  • Experience working with confidential records.
  • Experience with computers including Microsoft Office applications, Student Information Systems and Google Workspace.
  • Experience working with a team in a work or class environment as well as autonomously.
  • One (1) year of full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years.
Special Working Conditions

Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require numerous evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen. May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
