Job summary

Learn4Life High School - Charleston is seeking a Student Retention Liaison to address attendance concerns and support students' academic success. You will collaborate with students, families, and school teams to monitor progress, implement behavioral interventions, and promote regular attendance.

You will also connect with parents and community partners, develop intervention plans, collect data, and participate in professional development to improve student retention and outcomes.

Qualifications

• 2 years professional experience in community, youth and family or school relations work experience, including working with courts and law enforcement.
• Bachelor’s degree or 2 years equivalent experience in public school environment or social services background.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, families/caregivers, school personnel and community partners both orally and in writing.
• Commitment to inclusivity and understanding of students, families and barriers from a multi-cultural lens.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of data collection and analysis for behavioral interventions.
• MS Office proficiency and data handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop behavior plans and specific intervention plans for students and assist in their implementation.
• Collaborate with school administrators and teachers in identifying and developing individualized interventions.
• Collect data regarding student behaviors and recommend instructional modifications.
• Identify interventions for students in need of additional assistance.
• Provide support and workshops to families; build relationships with community partners.
• Interface with parents, community and public officials; promote organizational solutions.
