Job summary

Oklahoma City Community College is seeking a Student Photographer to capture images for campus events, publications, website and marketing materials. This student role supports the Marketing department and reports to the Executive Director of Communications.

You must be an OCCC student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (or 3 in summer) and may be selected for federal work study funds. Responsibilities include arranging headshots, setting up lighting, editing photos with Lightroom/Photoshop,

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate headshot sessions for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Set up and break down lighting, backdrops, and camera equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shooting area.
  • Edit headshots and event photos using Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop.
  • Ensure consistent quality, color correction, cropping, and retouching standards.
  • Organize and archive digital assets in a shared photo library.
  • Resize and format photos for web, print, and social media use.
  • Support staff during video shoots by setting up equipment (lights, microphones, cameras).
  • Monitor audio and lighting conditions during shoots.
  • Keep photography and video equipment in clean, working condition.
  • Maintain studio organization and safety standards.
  • Contribute ideas for visual storytelling and branding consistency.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure photography aligns with the college’s image and mission.
  • Stay up to date on trends in visual media and propose improvements to workflows.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
  1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
    Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
    Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
    Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which one must convey detailed or important spoken information or instructions to others.

  • Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
