Job summary

University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking an Academic Pathway Advisor to empower first‑generation and low‑income students in Nebraska. You will recruit, advise, and monitor student progress, and build ties with counselors, families and partners in Lincoln/Waverly.

Responsibilities include hosting workshops, providing one-on-one advising and tutoring, and helping plan the summer program with required travel within the service area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is required.
  • Two years of experience with low-income students in academic/social settings.
  • Experience designing curriculum and/or workshops for students.
  • Ability to develop educational programming on career exploration, financial literacy, and college prep.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to drive university vans.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, advise and support students in the program and monitor their success.
  • Build relationships with school counselors, families and community partners in Lincoln/Waverly area.
  • Host workshops, provide one-on-one advising, tutoring, and enrichment programs.
  • Assist in planning and executing the summer program.
  • Regular travel within the service area is required.
