Job summary

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking an Academic Pathway Advisor in Lincoln, NE to empower first‑generation and low‑income students through guidance, workshops, and college-prep programming.

As the Advisor, you will recruit, advise, and support students in the program, build relationships with counselors, families, and partners, and help plan summer activities with regular travel within the service area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field is required.
  • Two years of experience working with low-income students in academic or social settings.
  • Experience designing curriculum and/or workshops for students.
  • Ability to develop educational programming for career exploration and post-secondary preparation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility to drive university vans.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, advise and support students in the program and monitor their success.
  • Build relationships with school counselors, families and community partners in Lincoln/Waverly area.
  • Host workshops, provide one-on-one advising and tutoring, and facilitate enrichment programs.
  • Assist in planning and execution of the summer program.
  • Regular travel within the service area is required.
