Job summary

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking an Academic Pathway Advisor in Grand Island to recruit, advise, and support students in the TRIO Programs, with regular travel within the Grand Island/Winnebago service area. This full-time, grant-funded role emphasizes autonomy, community partnerships, and enrichment activities, including workshops and summer programming, with occasional travel to Lincoln.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
Two years of experience in an academic and/or social setting with low-income students.
Demonstrated experience designing curriculum and/or workshops for students.
Ability to develop educational programming related to career exploration, financial literacy, and post-secondary preparation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the University driver eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

Recruit, advise, and support students in the program and monitor their success.
Build relationships with school counselors, families and community partners within the Grand Island/Winnebago service area.
Host interactive workshops, provide one-on-one advising, tutoring, and facilitate enrichment programs.
Assist in the planning and execution of the summer program.
This is a regionally based role for someone who thrives on autonomy. Working from a Grand Island office. Regular travel within the service area and periodic travel to Lincoln is required.
