Job summary

The University of Austin is seeking a highly organized, proactive Student Life Coordinator to support student programming, residential life, and student organizations. You will work closely with the Director of Student Life to ensure programs run smoothly and to strengthen the overall student experience.

The role emphasizes building strong relationships with students, supporting wellness resources, and coordinating communications with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through.
• Sound judgment and discretion when working with students, including in emergencies.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and occasional evening or weekend events.

Responsibilities

• Support students with housing, onboarding, and administrative needs.
• Conduct regular student check-ins and participate in on-call rotation for overnight crisis response.
• Plan and execute campus events, orientation, and student programming including logistics (catering, security, A/V).
• Support Resident Assistants with training, resources, and programming.
• Assist student clubs and organizations with programming and processes.
• Manage communications with parents and families regarding university information and events.
• Track student forms and documentation and coordinate program logistics.
• Help develop programming to strengthen first‑year engagement and retention.
• Identify operational gaps and develop processes to improve efficiency and consistency across Student Life.
