Job summary

Ivy Tech Marion is seeking a Student Life Assistant to support internal and external activities, mentor student engagement, and help run events and programs. You will be the first point of contact and help maintain a professional image for all services offered by Student Life.

Key duties include mascot brand management, assisting with events and promotions, coordinating logistics, and supporting campus organizations.

Qualifications

• Must be a current Ivy Tech student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
• Intermediate computer knowledge for applications like email, word processing, internet, spreadsheets, audio visual, zoom, voicemail applications.
• Excellent Public and Interpersonal Communication Skills, and ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
• Must be a Self-Starter with Self-Motivation -Has the ability to effectively work independently with little to no supervision.
• Has the ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
• Understands or has the ability to learn and adhere to Ivy Tech policies relating to Risk Management, Academic Standards, Finance, and Student Code of Conduct.
• Experience in event planning, organization, marketing, or visual communication a plus

Responsibilities

• Uphold and manage the Ivy Tech Marion mascot brand, image and persona.
• Assist in Student Life events, marketing campaigns and promotions, character appearances, guest and student interactions and photo opportunities.
• Maintain the Mascot costume, ensuring it remains in good condition and is clean and safe for each performance.
• Assist with planning, marketing, and facilitation of student life events, meetings, and conferences including facility reservations and set-up, vendor arrangements, catering arrangements, audio-visual requests, reservation lists, attendance tracking.
• Create Student Life printed and electronic materials and maintains campus bulletin boards and postings in all buildings.
• Assume Presidential role of the Campus Activities Board student organization and lead meetings and activities as needed.
• Maintain IvyLife student life portal, including event creation and participation.
• Provide ongoing administrative support for student organizations, regarding start-up, registration, tracking, training, and travel.
• Maintenance of supplies and materials in all Student Life locations.
• Collaborate with other departments and faculty to market and implement programming and activities.
• Answer telephone, greet visitors, relay information, and handle mail.
• Maintain calendars and schedule appointments for on-campus and virtual meetings and workshops
