The Stubblefield Institute seeks a part-time library assistant to support Public Services by checking materials in/out, shelving, and guiding patrons with basic tech questions. The role includes maintaining Reading Room and Public Services areas and assisting on special library projects.
Ideal candidates are enrolled in at least 6 credits and able to type 30 wpm, with a friendly, people-oriented approach. Federal Work Study eligibility is preferred.
Assist library patrons with checking materials in and out at the Public Services desk. Shelve library materials. Assist library patrons with basic computer, directional and library resource questions. Assist users in finding materials on the shelf. Refer in-depth questions to research librarian. Maintain the collaborative lab area – cleaning computers, filling printers with paper, and shelving materials. Maintain the Reading Room – clearing tables and pushing in chairs. Maintain the Public Services area – cleaning desk, phones, and monitors. Occasionally work on special library projects, as required.
