Job summary

The Stubblefield Institute seeks a part-time library assistant to support Public Services by checking materials in/out, shelving, and guiding patrons with basic tech questions. The role includes maintaining Reading Room and Public Services areas and assisting on special library projects.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in at least 6 credits and able to type 30 wpm, with a friendly, people-oriented approach. Federal Work Study eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• Type at least 30 words per minute; enjoy working with people.
• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist library patrons with checking materials in and out at the Public Services desk.
• Shelve library materials.
• Assist patrons with basic computer, directional and library resource questions.
• Refer in-depth questions to research librarian.
• Maintain the collaborative lab area – cleaning computers, filling printers with paper, and shelving materials.
• Maintain the Reading Room – clearing tables and pushing in chairs.
• Maintain the Public Services area – cleaning desk, phones, and monitors.
• Occasionally work on special library projects, as required.
