Job summary

Babson College seeks a knowledgeable loan specialist to plan, publicize, and manage federal, state, institutional, and private loan programs for students and families. You will certify loans, oversee disbursements, and work with multiple offices to ensure timely funding and accurate charges.

The role requires strong regulatory knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to guide borrowers. Hybrid onsite work is required 3 days per week; a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 4–6 years of related experience with financial aid regulations.
• Customer-oriented and technology-driven work environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for students/parents seeking financing options for college expenses.
• Assist with outreach on financing options and advise on borrowing amounts.
• Identify best financing options based on individual needs.
• Process and certify federal/state/institutional/private loans daily.
• Coordinate disbursements with Student Accounts and Financial Services.
• Administer Federal Direct Loan program, origination, disbursement, and COD site.
• Approve and award private loans; handle cost of attendance change requests.
• Certify loans and liaise with lenders and applicants as needed.
• Monitor loan change requests and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Support Cohort Default Rate goals; conduct financial literacy and counseling.
• Participate in RFI processes for private loan options; be the SFS touchpoint.
• Maintain Babson loans origination and monthly service charges.
