Job summary

The University of Virginia is seeking a Loan Coordinator to join the Loan team within the Office of Student Financial Services in Charlottesville. The role focuses on Direct and Private loan processing, counseling students and parents, and ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations.

The position is hybrid with some in-office presence, located on UVA grounds. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of financial aid experience.

Qualifications

• At least two years of financial aid experience.
• Experience with Direct/Private loan processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Award, certify, process, troubleshoot, and reconcile Direct and Private loans. Train new employees on SIS and ELMOne interfaces.
• Respond to inquiries and provide loan counseling to students and parents.
• Review federal policies/regulations regarding Direct Loans using FSA/NSLDS resources; inform supervisor of changes.
• Document loan processes to meet auditing requirements.
• Assist awarding team during peak periods to prepare award packages and ensure accuracy per packaging rules.
• Participate in testing awarding tools, formulas, and new reports.
• Process financial aid change requests and related forms as needed.
