Fordham University in New York seeks a Financial Services Representative/Counselor to guide students and families through financial aid and payment options with a focus on personal service.

The role advises on payment plans, monitors progress, and supports financial aid administration, including packaging, eligibility and use of financing options, while engaging with campus offices and applying federal work-study procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum three years’ experience in financial aid or related field.
• Experience in customer-oriented or consumer credit financing.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel and financial aid software.

Responsibilities

• Advises families and students on how to pay for a university education and available financial aid.
• Formulates and communicates monthly payment plans and alternative loan options.
• Monitors progress of students through the payment process.
• Supports financial services and financial aid administration, including counseling, processing, and packaging.
• Assists in awarding, adjusting and reconciling Federal Work Study funds.
• Administers specified financial services procedures and programs.
