Job summary

Fordham University invites applicants for the position of Financial Aid Representative and Counselor who will advise families on paying for education and explore all aid options. The role includes formulating payment plans, monitoring progress, and supporting financial aid administration across campuses.

The candidate will engage with students and parents, deliver high-quality customer service, and may require evening/weekend hours and travel to other Fordham campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 1–2 years student financial services or related experience.
• Proven administrative skills, including delivery of high-quality customer service.
• Effective presentation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Advises families and students on how to pay for a university education, including all sources of assistance and the delivery system for financial aid.
• Takes responsibility for the marketing and formulation of individual payment plans, i.e., monthly payment plans and alternative loan options.
• Works with enrolled students to monitor progress through the payment process.
• Serves in all areas of financial services and financial aid administration, including counseling of students and parents, processing of applications, packaging, and financing options.
