Southwestern Michigan College is seeking a Student – Academic Affairs Event Support Assistant to help with VAPA rehearsals and events on campus. The role includes preparing rooms, arranging refreshments, and handling logistics to ensure smooth events.

Eligible students must be enrolled full-time or part-time (minimum credits), maintain good academic standing, and demonstrate reliability and customer-service orientation. Wages are paid bi-weekly at $13.73 per hour.

• Current SMC student in good academic standing.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Review event instructions prior to each assignment.
• Pick up and transport refreshments and supplies to meeting location.
• Prepare meeting rooms, including tables, chairs, signage, and meeting materials.
• Arrange refreshments in a professional and welcoming manner.
• Verify that the room is ready before attendees arrive.
• Respond to minor logistical requests from academic administrative staff.
• Clean serving areas and restore the room to its original configuration.
• Return reusable supplies and equipment to designated storage.
• Dispose of trash and recycling appropriately.
• Report low inventory or supply needs.
