Job summary

The University of Kansas’ Lied Center seeks a Student Events & Audience Services Assistant to support event operations and guest services during campus events. You will lead usher teams, handle patron entry and ticketing, and coordinate with rental clients to ensure smooth event delivery.

The role requires strong communication and a customer-friendly demeanor. Responsibilities include AV setup, cross‑functional coordination, and assisting artists with hospitality needs.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in events management, ticketing or customer service, or equivalent experience, as evidenced by application materials.
• Experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Clear and concise communication skills, as evidenced by application materials.
• Must be available to work an irregular schedule, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure facility before and after events and coordinate usher teams with briefings and assignments.
• Process ticket sales, exchanges, refunds, and inquiries while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Prepare venues for performances by coordinating seating, signage, programs, and AV requirements.
• Serve as on-site liaison for rental clients, overseeing event setup, execution, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist artists with hospitality needs and manage related inventory and accommodations.
• Oversee merchandise sales operations and end-of-event financial settlements.
