Job summary

The University of Kansas Edwards Campus is seeking a Student Events Specialist to support planning and execution of campus events, ensuring a welcoming and seamless experience for all guests. This student hourly, non-exempt position reports to the Manager of Campus Events and emphasizes guest services, event setup, client communication, and post-event teardown.

Ideal candidates are organized, service-oriented, and able to work in a team, with the ability to lift up to 35 lbs and communicate

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel demonstrated by coursework or experience.
• Previous experience providing customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist guests with professional, courteous service.
• Respond promptly to guest inquiries and maintain high service levels.
• Assist with event setup, including beverage stations, linens, seating, A/V equipment, and signage.
• Communicate with clients about event details and logistics; coordinate tech, catering, room configurations, refreshments, and materials.
• Assist with post-event teardown and inventory of materials for future events.
