Job summary

University of Kansas Lied Center is seeking student workers to support technical operations for events. Responsibilities include set-up/tear-down of lighting, audio, and video systems, as well as stage and production assistance across performances and community events.

Applicants must commit to a flexible weekday schedule, with two two-hour blocks available. The role is hourly and non-exempt, with emphasis on teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to adhere to an online-based scheduling system.
  • Must communicate clearly and promptly via email as evidenced by application materials.
  • Must have a flexible schedule as evidenced by application materials.
  • Two two-hour blocks available during weekdays, not including noon-1pm.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with set-up and tear-down of Lied Center events, including hanging and focusing lights, moving curtains, loading/unloading equipment.
  • Assist with operation of technical systems during events, including lighting consoles, audio systems, cameras, and video projections.
  • Provide stage and production support alongside professional staff for performances and campus events.
  • Help maintain and repair equipment, including changing lamps and cables, and upkeep of technical systems.
  • Work as part of a 50+ member technical crew, meeting deadlines and participating in training.
  • Assist with costume and production area support, including laundering and organizing spaces.
