Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Student Electronics Technician to assist in maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of AVL, video surveillance, and radio systems on UGA buses.

You will support diagnostics, inventory, and repairs, with hands-on field and shop work in the Athens Area. Sensible work hours apply; expected to lift up to 50 pounds and operate in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in electronics, engineering, CS, or closely related field.
• Basic understanding of electronics principles and tools.
• Wiring, soldering, or vehicle systems experience is a plus.
• Familiar with Windows-based programs and hardware setup/troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AVL, video, and radio equipment.
• Perform equipment testing and diagnostics using multimeters and laptops.
• Document work and maintain logs and inventory.
• Drive university vehicles to transport tools or test equipment.
• Assist with shop organization and minor repairs.
