Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington is seeking a Bursar Assistant to join the Account Resolution team. The role focuses on collecting payments on delinquent student accounts across IU's campuses, using phone, email, and text to communicate with students and arranging repayment plans where appropriate.

Preferred candidates have experience with student accounts, strong customer service skills, and familiarity with billing systems such as PeopleSoft SIS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; substitutions may apply.
• 2 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft SIS and IUIE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor past-due student accounts and contact students via phone, email, and text.
• Create in-house repayment agreements following university guidelines.
• Coordinate with 3rd party agencies when in-house collections fail.
• Audit bursar accounts and payments for deadlines and regulations.
