Job summary

University of New England is seeking a Student Account Specialist to support the student financial services team. You will help students and families understand their semester bill, payment options, and related processes.

This role requires familiarity with accounts receivable and cashiering in a university setting, plus strong communication and confidentiality. Your duties include posting payments, assisting with billing, and supporting collections as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in accounting or related field, plus 3–4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong accounts receivable and cashiering knowledge in a university setting.
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication; ability to handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Process refunds for parents and students and stay knowledgeable on federal Title IV refunds.
  • Post daily accounts receivable items including student payments and deposits.
  • Assist in generating semester billing and maintain third‑party billing.
  • Post scholarships and waivers in the student system as needed.
  • Address account problems and refer unusual cases to supervisor.
  • Perform collections tasks for active students and clear students for registration.
