Job summary

Decatur Public Schools seeks a School-Based Behavioral Intervention Specialist to provide prevention and intervention plans for at-risk students across elementary to high school. You will support school social workers, teachers, staff, students and parents, and coordinate MTSS-based interventions to reduce behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities include data collection, progress monitoring, classroom support, home visits, and collaboration with administration and families.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, counseling, psychology, social work, education or related field.
  • Master's degree or license preferred for advanced practice.
  • Experience in counseling and collaborative MTSS interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with school teams to implement behavioral interventions.
  • Collect and submit data for evaluation and MTSS monitoring.
  • Develop and monitor individual and small group interventions.
  • Provide workshops and parent/family engagement activities.
  • Coach teachers on classroom management and culturally responsive practices.
  • Conduct home visits as needed and communicate progress to families.
  • Maintain confidential case files and coordinate wraparound services.
