Job summary

Mesa Public Schools' Mesa Center for Success seeks a Security - Student Intervention Specialist to support safety and well-being by applying behavior management and de-escalation strategies. This on-site role collaborates with staff to maintain an inclusive school environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring student behavior, documenting incidents, assisting with non-crisis interventions, and supporting transitions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Experience with student behavior management is a plus
• Security background preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in non-crisis or physical intervention during de-escalation
• Monitor and document student behavior in seclusion or reset room
• Assist students with personal care needs as needed
• Transfer and/or lift students to assist daily activities
• Identify rule violations and report to authorities
• Support supervision and transitions for safety and engagement
• Assist bus driver with security and discipline; ride bus as needed
• Serve as witness in disciplinary processes
• Participate in meetings to share observations and improve strategies
• Submit oral and written reports to school/district
• Work over contractual hours when needed
• Maintain regular and on-time attendance
• Assist with other duties as assigned
