Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in school psychology, psychology, social work or related field.
  • Two years of related experience required.
  • Proof of education, training and/or experience required.
  • Valid state driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan diagnostic, educational and therapeutic service needs for students with emotional/behavior disabilities.
  • Design, implement, monitor and follow up on behavioral intervention/prevention strategies.
  • Identify and maintain cooperative relationships with resources and agencies providing services for behavioral/mental health issues.
  • Provide professional development to teachers on classroom management and positive behavior support.
  • Observe and report on classroom management and safety of an emotionally supportive environment.
  • Facilitate planning meetings of involved teachers, social workers and clinicians as needed.
  • Respond to crisis situations in a safe and caring manner.
  • Gather information/data for periodic and special reports documenting activities.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as preparing reports and entering data.
  • Attend staff or professional meetings and maintain certifications as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
