Massachusetts Bay Community College is seeking a part-time Student Assistant for the Career Services office. The role focuses on mentoring programs, promoting services to students, managing Handshake, and providing administrative support to Career Services and Student Development offices.
You’ll engage with students in person and online, create promotional materials, and assist with College-wide events under supervision.

Locatedin Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college,offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses inWellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have adesire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs andbackgrounds. This is a part-time, student employment position with no benefits.
The Student Assistantwill act as a student ambassador and representative for the Career Servicesoffice, with a focus on MassBay’s mentoring programs. In this internship, theStudent Assistant will build a comprehensive understanding of how Career Servicesand our mentoring programs support students and use this knowledge toeffectively promote these services and programs to the MassBay studentcommunity. This may include engaging with students in-person and online,creating and managing social media content, developing and distributingpromotional materials, and providing training to student leaders and campusgroups about our services and programs. In addition, the Student Assistant willprovide administrative and operational support to the Career Services officeand as needed, administrative support for the Student Development office. Theywill help manage Handshake, MassBay’s job and internship platform. The StudentAssistant will offer their own insight and solicit feedback from MassBaystudents on Career Services programming, materials, and operations. Thisstudent will assist the team with the logistics and execution of college-wideevents providing day-of, in-person support for events as their schedule allows.This role will also enable the Student Assistant to pursue an independent studyof a career/workforce development topic of personal interest and present theirproject to the team. Individualized learning outcomes will be developedcollaboratively between the Student Assistant and supervisor.

Salary Range:$19 per hour
