The UNM IT Networks Voice Teamis seeking a responsible, detail-oriented student employee to supporttelecommunications services, including voicemail, long-distance codes, and othervoice-related services. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-onexperience supporting IT operations within a large and diverse Universityenvironment while developing technical, customer service, communication, andorganizational skills.
The ideal candidate will beself-motivated, organized, dependable, and capable of working independentlywith minimal supervision. Strong communication and customer service skills areessential, as the position involves regular interaction with students, faculty,staff, and IT personnel across the University. The successful candidate shouldbe comfortable working with a diverse University population and demonstrateprofessionalism when responding to requests and coordinating services.
This position requires thestudent employee to work in the office a minimum of three days per week. Theposition also includes physical and logistical responsibilities, including thedelivery, pickup, transportation, and inventory of IT and telecommunicationsequipment. Equipment may need to be transported between various locationsthroughout UNM Main Campus and the UNM Hospital.
Because this position mayinvolve the operation of University vehicles and transportation of ITequipment, the selected candidate must be able to successfully complete aUNM-required defensive driving course immediately upon hire. The candidateshould be comfortable performing physical tasks associated with movingequipment and should be able to communicate effectively with users whencoordinating equipment deliveries and pickups.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Processing Telecom-related tickets, including adding and removing voicemail boxes, long-distance codes, and other Telecom services.
Assisting with maintaining accurate inventory counts, organization, and tracking of IT and Telecom equipment.
Assisting with coordinating and completing the delivery and pickup of IT and Telecom equipment from users at various locations throughout UNM Main Campus and the UNM Hospital.
Assisting with the safe transportation and movement of IT and Telecom equipment between University locations, including loading, unloading, and positioning equipment as needed.
Providing professional, courteous, and timely communication with faculty, staff, students, and IT personnel while coordinating equipment deliveries, pickups, and Telecom-related services.
Assisting the Voice Team with various technical, administrative, and operational projects and tasks.
Maintaining regular in-office availability, with a minimum expectation of three days per week, to support team operations and complete assigned responsibilities.
Successfully completing and maintaining required UNM training, including the UNM defensive driving course immediately upon hire, as necessary to perform assigned transportation duties.
Other Duties as assigned.
Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Minimum Qualifications:
Enrolled in a degree-seekingprogram at UNM; enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall andspring semesters (Audit hours do not count); and, if Work Study, must meetSatisfactory Academic Progress. Basic computer skills and experience usingWindows.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the abilityto provide professional customer service.
Ability to work in office a minimumof three days per week.
Ability to successfully complete the required UNMdefensive driving course immediately upon hire. Ability to lift and safelytransport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
