Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking an Activity Sponsor at Proviso Math & Science Academy to organize and supervise student clubs, mentor students, and promote an inclusive extracurricular experience.

Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Activities, this stipend, non-tenure role emphasizes safety, compliance with IHSA and district policies, and collaboration with staff to support academic balance.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Ability to work with students in a school setting.
• Valid Illinois PEL or Substitute License or Educator Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for club activities, meetings, events, and practices.
• Ensure off-campus activities follow district procedures and obtain required permissions.
• Act as a mandated reporter under Illinois law and complete required trainings.
• Support student development by setting clear expectations and giving feedback.
• Coordinate logistics with school personnel for safe events.
• Communicate with stakeholders using district-approved platforms.
