Job summary

Proviso West High School, part of Proviso Township High Schools District 209, seeks an Athlete/Activities Sponsor to guide a student club, organize and supervise activities, and liaise with staff and administration to provide a safe, inclusive extracurricular experience.

This stipend position supports student development and adheres to district rules for activities and reporting. The role emphasizes mentoring, leadership, and community engagement within the school.

Qualifications

• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to guide student groups.
• Able to work collaboratively with students and staff in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision for club activities, meetings, events, and practices.
• Ensure off-campus activities follow district procedures and obtain approvals.
• Fulfill mandated reporter duties under Illinois law (cyber safety, reporting).
• Prepare students for participation and provide constructive feedback.
• Guide students in planning inclusive, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Coordinate logistics and facility usage with school personnel.
