Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools seeks an Athletics/Activities Sponsor at Proviso Math & Science Academy. This stipend, non-tenure position mentors students, plans and supervises clubs and activities, and liaises with staff and administrators to ensure a safe, inclusive extracurricular experience.

The sponsor coordinates permissions, maintains compliance with school policies, and supports student achievement through responsible leadership and program development.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students in a school setting.
• Willingness to take responsibility for all duties associated with the position.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all club activities, meetings, events, trips and practices with student safety in mind.
• Ensure off-campus activities follow district procedures and approvals.
• As a mandated reporter, comply with training and reporting obligations.
• Define expectations and provide constructive feedback to support student development.
• Plan and execute inclusive, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the club’s mission.
• Coordinate logistics and facility usage with school personnel for safe events.
• Communicate expectations clearly and enforce attendance, behavior and eligibility policies.
• Publicize meetings and events through district-approved channels.
• Collaborate with co-sponsors and staff to support school goals.
• Attend sponsor meetings, activity fairs and open house events.
