Job summary

Proviso West High School in Hillside, IL seeks an Athletics/Activities Activity Sponsor to organize, supervise, and promote a student club in line with district goals. The sponsor acts as mentor and liaison to ensure a safe, engaging extracurricular experience.

This is a non-tenure, extra-duty stipend position funded by the district; duties include supervising meetings and events, ensuring compliance with policies, and reporting outcomes at year-end.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills required.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with students in a school setting.
• Willingness to take responsibility for all duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision for club activities, meetings, events, and practices with a focus on safety.
• Ensure off-campus activities are approved and transportation and permissions are in place.
• Comply with mandated reporter requirements and district policies.
• Prepare students for participation, define expectations, and provide constructive feedback.
• Coordinate logistics and facility usage with school personnel for well-organized events.
• Promote student involvement and model positive interpersonal relations.
• Maintain communications with students, staff, and parents about club operations and events.
• Enforce attendance, behavior, and eligibility policies and publicly promote activities.
