Job summary

Proviso West High School in Hillside, IL is seeking a Steppers Club Activity Sponsor. The role mentors students, supervises meetings and activities, and coordinates with staff to ensure a safe, engaging extracurricular experience.

The sponsor reports to the Director of Athletics and Activities and follows district policies, including IHSA eligibility and district documentation requirements. This is a non-tenure, extra-duty stipend assignment contingent on enrollment and funding.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision for all club activities, ensuring safety and compliance with school policies.
• Obtain district approvals for off-campus activities and handle permissions/transport arrangements.
• Comply with mandatory reporter obligations under Illinois law.
• Prepare students for participation and provide feedback to support development.
• Guide students in planning inclusive and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Coordinate logistics with school personnel to ensure safe events.
• Use data to inform program decisions and improve club impact.
• Communicate expectations and enforce attendance and behavior policies.
• Publicize meetings and events in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with co-sponsors and staff to support club goals.
• Attend sponsor meetings and related events.
• Maintain professionalism and integrity as a representative of the district.
• Manage club budget and record-keeping per district procedures.
• Submit required documentation and year-end activity reports.
