Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Buildings Engineering Intern to join our Los Angeles, CA office for Summer 2027. You will immerse yourself in diverse projects, focusing on structural design for vertical structures including new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a 3rd year undergrad in Civil/Architectural Eng with a focus on structures.
• Completion of steel and concrete design classes preferred, completion of at least one is required.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel and engineering software.
• Familiarity with REVIT Structure beneficial.
• Co-op/internship experience related to commercial, institutional, or residential buildings would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist project team in preparing structural design and drawings for buildings from conceptual to construction stages.
• Perform field reviews for projects under construction or document existing conditions in buildings.
• Become familiar with engineering plans and details.
• Assist with computer modeling and hand calculations.
