Job summary

Independent School District 196 seeks an Elementary Literacy Interventionist to support students needing targeted literacy interventions. The role collaborates with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to implement evidence-based strategies aligned with structured literacy.

The interventionist will participate in district-wide efforts, utilize data to drive instruction, and contribute to an inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota teaching license (elementary, special education, reading, or English Language Development).
• Minimum of three years teaching experiencia.
• Structured literacy training (preferred).
• Experience in structured literacy instruction and intervention (preferred).
• Knowledge of Minnesota English-Language Arts Standards.
• Ability to analyze data and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Strong interpersonal, organization, and communication skills.
• Commitment to equity and culturally responsive teaching.

Responsibilities

• Assess students to identify literacy challenges and plan interventions.
• Analyze assessment data to develop personalized intervention plans.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers and district staff to monitor progress.
• Implement explicit, systematic structured literacy instruction.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress.
• Participate in leadership teams and district intervention initiatives.
• Support district efforts to ensure inclusive learning environments.
