Job summary

The Dayton Area School Consortium seeks an Instructional Support Specialist to provide supplemental literacy intervention under the Title I SSI Grant in elementary settings.

Under licensed staff supervision, the paraprofessional delivers evidence-based reading support, aligns with structured literacy and the Science of Reading, and helps monitor student progress for district improvement goals.

Qualifications

  • Completion of at least 2 years of study at an accredited institution (48 semester hours/72 quarter hours) or an Associate's degree or higher.
  • Knowledge of and ability to assist with struggling readers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based literacy intervention activities to individual students and small groups (Tier 2/3).
  • Reinforce literacy skills through approved intervention programs and structured literacy practices.
  • Maintain records of participation, progress-monitoring, and data to inform instruction.
