Job summary

Pasco School District in Pasco, WA, is seeking a Specialized Program Paraeducator: SLC at Livingston Elementary. The role involves supporting ABA-based instruction, adapting communication methods, and supervising students within a 180-day calendar.

Starting date To Be Determined. Salary ranges from $22.44 to $24.79 per hour with additional pay for AA or BA degrees; fingerprint screening required for new hires.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish), preferred but not required.
• Must meet one or more of the following: Associate degree or higher; 72 college credits; or ETS paraeducator assessment.
• Prior paraeducator experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with special needs students preferred but not required.
• Valid First aid and/or CPR card for infants and children or willing to obtain.
• CPI trained or willing to attend training.

Responsibilities

• Support instruction and behavior interventions using ABA techniques as directed.
• Facilitate communication using AAC devices and picture exchange systems.
• Use de-escalation strategies and follow CPI techniques to maintain safety.
• Deliver individualized or small group instruction and monitor engagement.
• Administer first aid to provide emergency care.
• Assist with needs related to working with special needs students such as diapering, feeding, toileting, etc.
• Provide one-on-one or group instruction as directed by teachers.
• Assist with classroom management and material preparation.
• Provide support or supervision of students during arrival, dismissal, and transitions.
• Assist with light cleaning and setup for activities.
• Adhere to district safety policies and program guidelines; complete training.
• Maintain student records in the district information systems.
• Translate verbal/written information for students and parents (bilingual).
• Attend district meetings to communicate and gain feedback.
• Assist with supervision to ensure a safe learning environment.
