Pasco School District No. 1 is seeking a Specialized Program Paraeducator for Life Skills at Chiawana High School in Pasco, WA.

The role runs 6.75 hours/day on most days with a 180-day calendar, offering $23.12–$25.92 hourly and district-passed credits for degree bonuses. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; bilingual/biliterate (Spanish) preferred; associates degree or college credits or ETS paraeducator test; CPR/First Aid; CPI training; and prior paraeducator or K-12

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish), preferred but not required.
• Must meet one or more: Associate degree, 72 credits or ETS paraeducator assessment.
• Prior paraeducator or related experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with special needs students preferred but not required.
• Valid First aid and/or CPR card or willingness to obtain.
• K-12 school setting experience preferred but not required.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) trained or willing to attend.

Responsibilities

• Support instruction and behavior interventions using ABA techniques as directed by the teacher.
• Facilitate communication using AAC devices and other tools under guidance.
• Use de-escalation strategies and follow the student’s behavior plan and CPI techniques.
• Deliver small group or one-on-one instruction and monitor engagement.
• Administer first aid to provide emergency care.
• Assist with needs related to working with special needs students (diapering, feeding, lifting).
• Provide supervision during transitions, arrival/departure, and activities.
• Prepare materials and assist with lesson setup.
• Maintain student records in district systems and translate information as needed.
• Attend required trainings and participate in district meetings.
