Job summary

Pasco School District No. 1 – Whittier Elementary School in Pasco, WA, is seeking a Bilingual Specialized Program Paraeducator for the SLC program for the 2026/2027 school year. Qualifications

• Bilingual (Spanish) required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree (AAS/AA) or higher; 72 credits or 48 semester credits; or ETS paraeducator passing score.
• Prior paraeducator experience preferred but not required.
• CPI trained or willing to attend CPI training.
• Valid First aid and/or CPR for infants/children or willing to obtain.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Support instruction and behavior interventions using ABA techniques as directed by the teacher.
• Facilitate communication using AAC devices and other tools under guidance.
• Use de-escalation strategies and follow behavior support and CPI techniques for safety.
• Deliver individual or small group instruction and monitor engagement.
• Administer first aid for emergencies.
• Assist with needs of special needs students (diapering, feeding, etc.).
• Provide one-on-one or group instruction as needed.
• Assist with classroom management and material preparation.
• Supervise students during arrival/departure, transit, breaks and activities.
• Help with light cleaning and set up/take down of activities.
• Adhere to district safety policies and program guidelines.
