Job summary

Pasco School District No. 1 seeks a Specialized Program Paraeducator for Life Skills at Reynolds Middle School in Pasco, WA. The role supports instruction, behavior interventions, and student communication with ABA techniques and AAC tools.

Hours total 6.75 per day with a 180‑day calendar; starting date TBD. Salary ranges $23.12–$25.92 per hour. New hires require fingerprint screening; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish) preferred.
• Must meet one or more of: AA/AS with 72 credits or 48 credits, or passing ETS paraeducator assessment.
• Paraeducator experience or related work preferred but not required.
• Experience with students who have special needs preferred but not required.
• Valid First aid and/or CPR for infants/children or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in a K-12 setting preferred.
• CPI trained or willing to attend training.

Responsibilities

• Support instruction and behavior interventions using ABA techniques as directed.
• Facilitate communication using AAC devices and picture exchange systems.
• Use CPI techniques to ensure safety and student regulation.
• Deliver targeted academic and functional instruction to individuals or small groups.
• Provide first aid as needed.
• Assist with basic needs and mobility for students with special needs.
• Support teachers with classroom management and material prep.
• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, transit, and meals.
