Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking a Structure Maintainer – Group C (Iron Work). This full-time role involves performing ironwork on subway, surface and elevated structures, including stations and related buildings, with duties from shoring to welding and rivet removal on steel components.

Candidates must meet apprenticeship or journey‑level ironworker requirements, hold a NY driver license, and pass required screenings.

Qualifications

• Completion of a four‑year, full‑time apprenticeship in the ironwork trade or equivalent.
• Five years of journey‑level ironworker experience or combination of other qualifying pathways.
• Part‑time or alternative routes must be prorated or combined per the notices provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform ironwork on subway, surface and elevated structures including stations and related buildings.
• Carry out shoring, welding, riveting and related steelwork tasks and operate related equipment.
