Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks a B&B Mechanic (Carpenter) for the Long Island Rail Road’s Hillside Support Facility. The role focuses on maintaining and constructing LIRR structural assets, including bridges, trestles, and stations, using carpentry, concrete work, painting, tiling, and related duties.

Strong reading of blueprints, ability to read simple drawings, and possession of a valid driver's license with CDL permit eligibility are required.

Qualificações

• Must have a four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent (GED or TASC).
• Prior carpentry or related construction experience.
• Must provide own hand-tools and customary carpentry tools.

Responsabilidades

• Repair wooden railroad bridges, trestles, and tunnel supports.
• Repair/replace structural members of bridges.
• Perform concrete and conventional carpentry and construction work, including painting, masonry, tiling, and related duties.
