Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LIRR) seeks a skilled carpenter to maintain and construct structural assets across the territory, including bridges, tunnels, stations, and platforms. You will perform carpentry, concrete work, masonry, tiling, painting, and related tasks, using hand and power tools at a Hillside Facility.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, prior carpentry experience, a valid driver's license with CDL permit eligibility, and ability to read blueprints.

Qualificações

• Must have a four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent (GED or TASC).
• Prior carpentry or related construction experience.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) permit at time of hire.
• Ability to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to give as well as receive and understand oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to read simple blueprints or drawings.
• Must provide own hand-tools and customary carpentry tools.

Responsabilidades

• Repair wooden railroad bridges, trestles, and tunnel supports.
• Repair/replace structural members of bridges.
• Perform a variety of concrete and conventional carpentry and construction work (painting, masonry, tiling, taping, spackling, wallpapering) and related duties.
• Utilize and/or handle both hand and power tools.
• Dig trenches and holes.
