Job summary

Aerotek is hiring Structural Welders & Fitters for a Newark, DE contract-to-hire onsite role. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, cutting and fitting structural steel, and using welding and fabrication equipment. Comfortable with tablets and digital drawings is expected.

Pay ranges from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, with occasional overtime. This is a day shift in a non-temperature controlled fabrication shop, requiring physical work and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong blueprint reading skills.
• Precision fitting experience required.
• Ability to work with tight tolerances.
• Comfort using tablets and computers to view digital drawings and fabrication plans.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine layout and assembly requirements.
• Measure, cut, and fit structural steel components using welding, bolting, and other fastening techniques.
• Use a tape measure with precision down to 1/16 inch for accurate layout.
• Operate fabrication tools and machinery such as saws, torches, grinders, and drill presses.
• Ensure components meet dimensional and quality standards before final assembly.
• Collaborate with welders, machine operators, and quality control to maintain production accuracy.
• Utilize tablets and computers to read digital drawings and work instructions.
• Maintain a safe, organized on-site fabrication environment per OSHA standards.
