Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a welder/fitter for our Monticello, IA facility. You will read blueprints, set up welds, and maintain bead quality while operating cranes and lifting gear. Overtime is expected on a 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM schedule.

The role requires an Associates degree or equivalent, or 1–3 years welding experience, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and proficiency with measuring tools. Benefits include day-one medical, dental, vision, and more.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent, or 1–3 years welding experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
• Read and comprehend manuals and procedures.
• Read measuring devices and perform basic math.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed, travel, and gas flow.
• Read tape measure and blueprints to shop standard.
• Train others in welding procedures per guidelines.
• Operate overhead crane and lifting equipment.
• Maintain bead quality to specified shapes and tolerances.
• Keep accurate numerical and alphabetic sequences.
