Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a motivated production welder to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will perform MIG welding on structural steel components, including frames, rafters and custom assemblies, following safety rules and quality standards.

The role requires blueprint reading skills and the ability to adjust welding settings, with overtime anticipated. Benefits start on day one, and we offer mentorship and ongoing training to support your growth within

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum 1 year welding experience in a production environment or valid welding certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Willingness to obtain/maintain CWB and AWS welding certifications as per Cornerstone procedures.
• Experience with forklift and/or overhead crane operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow to achieve correct bead.
• Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
• Decide when adjustments are needed for gun manipulation or repairs of defects.
• Train and mentor others on proper welding procedures.
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment.
• Maintain bead shape, size and penetration while ensuring product quality.
• Keep numeric/alphabetic sequences correct.
• Support continuous improvement in the work area.
