Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a skilled Welder to join our structural welding team. You will join, fabricate, and repair metal components for building frames, interpreting blueprints and specs to determine the welding process.

Safety and quality are essential as you operate welding equipment and verify welds meet standards. Requires high school diploma and 2 years welding/fabrication experience; certification preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• 2 years’ experience in welding/fabricating.
• Welding certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniques.
• Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process.
• Receives job duties from the production lead/supervisor.
• Follow work procedures and tool and material requirements.
• Select and set up welding equipment.
• Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded.
• Fabricate metal building and metal roofing components.
• Use a rod or wire and heat to join metals.
• Use a plasma torch, grinding wheel, band saw or other instrument for cutting metal.
• Ensure welds meet standards and specifications.
