Job summary

Next Level Steel is seeking a hands-on Quality Control Inspector for our fabrication shop. In this full-time role, you will uphold quality and craftsmanship by verifying drawings, codes and our high standards across structural steel fabrication and welding.

You’ll work closely with production teams to ensure accuracy and timely inspections in a fast-paced environment. You will document results, manage NCRs, and support audits while maintaining detailed QA records and ensuring safety procedures

Qualifications

• Read and interpret structural steel drawings and weld symbols.
• Inspect fabrication, welds, tolerances and assembly per specs.
• Maintain inspection documentation and NCRs accurately.
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 and AISC standards.
• Proficiency with Tekla or similar inspection software.
• Consent to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a fast-paced shop.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections of structural steel fabrication and welds in a shop environment.
• Verify material identification and traceability against MTRs.
• Inspect fit-up, welding, holes sizes, edge conditions and tolerances.
• Ensure welding complies with WPSs and welder qualifications.
• Document inspection results and initiate NCRs as needed.
• Coordinate inspections with production staff, shop supervision and third‑party inspectors.
• Maintain QA records and support internal/external audits.
• Enforce inspection hold points and quality procedures throughout fabrication.
